From a Charleston Wedding Design & Gown Specialty Services Company, to a move to the Greater Michigan area, Press This Dress provides white-glove devotion to brides and their gowns.

Where It Began
A Charleston beginning.
Elyn’s deep love and dedication for all-things-wedding began in 2000, when she moved from London, England to establish a premier wedding and event design company in Charleston, SC, the nation’s third leading destination wedding location. Through her 20 years of experience leading this company, she identified a significant need common to most events: specialty dress steaming and/or hand-pressing to ensure garments were pristine for The Big Day. Press The Dress was formally launched in 2002 to meet this need. What started out as hand-pressing wedding gowns for her bride rapidly developed into a full concierge menu. This menu includes bride/bridal party pressing and steaming, garment staging for photography on the wedding morning, ‘white glove’ pick-up service the day after the wedding to ensure the gown is handled and transported with care, and processing, packaging and shipping for professional specialized cleaning and preservation and return delivery directly to the bride’s home. We treat each dress as if it were our own, or our daughters’ – that level of care quickly earned us a positive reputation and referrals from our clientele, planners, photographers and venues across the Lowcountry.

Press This Dress Finds a New Home to Michigan.
In Spring 2025, Elyn relocated to Michigan to be close to family and grandchildren. She sold Press The Dress to one of her dedicated Charleston team members, who continues to manage and operate this trusted service today.
Having settled in to Southeast Michigan, Elyn is continuing her passion of working with wedding industry professionals and, most importantly, with Brides and their families, to contribute to the beauty of their special day. Press This Dress offers the same high-end, detail-oriented concierge garment preparation and preservation service previously provided to over 5,000 couples in the Lowcountry, to Brides throughout Michigan and beyond.
Lady In Waiting SERVICE

Of all the services provided to Brides, Elyn missed her Lady in Waiting bookings the most. The best part of every wedding is helping a Bride prepare for the day ahead and reducing stress by ensuring all garments are pristinely prepared and that the dressing process is seamless and calm. The Lady in Waiting helps Brides to orchestrate the perfect ‘first look’ moment for parents, bridal party, and soon-to-be-spouses. Furthermore, this assistant allows Brides and the bridal party to enjoy the special hours supporting the couple and frees wedding planners to focus on final event details and coordination.
